This Rapid7® ControlsInsight® 2.0 release includes an improved Web interface and Executive Report and other upgrades.
Improved navigation, workflow, and metrics
The new ControlsInsight Web interface provides a simpler navigation experience, so that you can quickly see which security controls have the highest priority, how to deploy them, and which assets to deploy them on.
In addition, the Web interface includes the following new features:
- The Asset Coverage column now shows how well your grade has improved since the last assessment, so that you can track progress in improving security or identify areas of concern. The changes appear as increased or decreased percentage points in the column.
- The Assets tab on the Threats panel displays the number of highest-risk assets according to which assets do not have prioritized security controls deployed on them.
Executive Report improved for quick viewing
The Executive Report now consolidates high-level controls, assessment grades, and trends on the first page, so that your team can make quick decisions at a glance about where to shift deployment resources as necessary.
Expanded antivirus assessment
In response to your requests for expanded antivirus coverage, ConstrolsInsight includes the following products in its assessment of antivirus controls:
- Trend Micro OfficeScan
- Sophos Endpoint Security and Control
Expanded support includes guidance for installing, enabling, and updating these antivirus solutions.
Support for Internet Explorer
Controls Insight browser support has been expanded to include Microsoft Internet Explorer version 10.0 in addition to Mozilla Firefox 17 and the latest stable release of Google Chrome.
API support for automated processes
ControlsInsight now offers a robust REST API to automate the retrieval of information on effectiveness of controls in your organization. See more information.
